BMTN GATHERING @ WORLD CONGRESS OF MUSIC THERAPY

BMTN will hold an online World Congress of Music Therapy gathering originally scheduled to be held in-person in Pretoria, South Africa. All BMTN members, Black music therapy professionals, Black music therapy students, or Black and music therapy credential-seeking are welcomed to join and connect with members of the global Black music therapy community. The virtual meeting will take place on July 9, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time and 15h00 South Africa Standard Time. For Zoom info, check out the member's announcements page or send us an email.

2018 BLACK MUSIC THERAPY NETWORK SESSION

The 2017 Black Music Therapy Network session will take place during the American Music Therapy Association's national conference on November 16th at 12:30-1:45 p.m. This is an opportunity for Black music therapy professionals and students to connect and discuss professional development.  Room Location: TBA. 2018 BMTN & ALLIES GATHERING

We invite all allies to join us at our BMTN & Allies Gathering taking place at Hyatt Regency Dallas on November 17th, 2018 in Dallas, TX, 6:00-9:00 p.m. The forum will focus on the current sociopolitical climate's impact on Black communities throughout the U.S. and the role of music therapists, both locally and nationally, as it pertains to social justice and patient advocacy. Our honored guests include Clyde Valentin, director of Ignite/Arts Dallas, and Lee Merritt, renowned civil rights attorney and social justice activist. Room Location: TBA.
