What is Music Therapy?
Music therapy is many things. At its center, music therapy is the engaged practice of being in a relationship with music and people to expand the capacity to engage in life more fully. Music therapists are trained in the multiple functions of music and ways music may be elicited to expand and deepen the human experience. Training enhances music therapists' functional skills to work in a variety of community, medical, mental health, and behavioral settings and with people with varying needs.
